Pretty Anushka Sharma has been so busy on the road promoting her as yet untitled new movie that she missed out on hearing that she’d won another Best Debutante Award for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi until after the event had taken place! “I missed out on being present for the Mahurat of Patiala House and the award function which happened to be on the same day and got to know of my win only later that night while I was driving back,” she explained.

Her untitled film, which also stars Shahid Kapur and Meiyang Chang, is about a group of friends who want to make it big in music and is currently being filmed in Thailand. Since commencing work in Bangkok, Anushka has become fascinated by Chinese horoscopes. “I learned my Chinese zodiac sign,” she says, “It’s so true for me and also true for people I know. Now I am making people read their Chinese zodiacs on the sets too.” Anushka, by the way is a dragon and they are traditionally natural leaders who like to be the centre of attention. They are tenacious and also warm-hearted people, often generous to a fault.

Meanwhile, in order to develop the right chemistry between his co-stars, director Nikhil Advani recently asked Anushka to have dinner with her Patiala House co-star Akshay Kumar. “Its true, I want them to be comfortable with each other so that the chemistry between them while shooting can feel genuine,” explained Nikhil, “Akshay and Anushka haven’t had the time to familiarise themselves with each other and some alone time together can help them break the ice.” The film is a romantic comedy about an extended family living in Southall in London.

Well, it does seem so. Parachute which has now clearly increased its TG from women to girls and growing girls has opted for Anushka Sharma to replace Padukone as the brand ambassador for their hair oil brand. Anushka has even shot for the new hair oil commercial and the said ad will soon hit the small screen in a matter of time.

Anushka shot to fame as the heroine of the film ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ and has now gone on to do another film with Shahid Kapur for director Parmeet Sethi. The reason for Deepika losing out on this brand essentially is due to her increasing prices which are not being workable for the brand that had signed her on earlier for a much cheaper price.

It can be recalled that Deepika got to model for the hair oil brand even before her debut film had hit the silver screen. But then the girl, who started off as the heroine to Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Om Shanti Om’, has now been endorsing many products only to realise at the end that she needed to give her dates to those products which paid her a much higher sum. Also the fact that she was endorsing too many products went against her because the brand recall of Parachute could not be associated too much with Deepika Padukone and a survey showed that people did not associate Deepika with it so easily.
